Broken Arrow Sentinel: John Dobberstein, Editor
Everyone needs a baseline of factual information they can count on. When the city’s only local news source was closed in 2017, the dependable old friend that kept our citizens informed about their city was silenced.
That is precisely why I founded the Broken Arrow Sentinel in 2021 — to be your go-to source for news, features, sports and other happenings in our great city.
The Sentinel is powered by Patch Labs, an arm of hyperlocal news pioneer Patch.com. With the country seeing more than 1,200 newspapers close in the last decade, the goal at Patch Labs is to bring local news to areas in need. Patch Labs serves the Broken Arrow Sentinel in a support role, but all news decisions are made locally.
On our home page you will find a variety of news and information to keep you informed. We are here to support Broken Arrow, but are not afraid to challenge the status quo.
Our website has a Community Page where you can post comments, questions, news tips and other announcements! Want to promote your event? We have an event calendar for that!
Are you tired of the toxic comments and trolls on social media? Let us help you filter through the noise! Register on our website and receive daily email updates to stay informed.
With your participation and support we can build an information source for Broken Arrow that is engaging and informative — that speaks to us and about us.
Please join me in this effort! I’ll see you around town!
