Man hit by car, beaten and left for dead in south Tulsa after car chase

The Tulsa Police Department is investigating an incident early Saturday in south Tulsa that left a man severely beaten and reportedly fighting for his life in the ICU of a local hospital.
According to accounts posted on Facebook Monday by his father Ben, and several other friends, Christopher Key left his little cousin’s birthday party early Saturday morning and, for reasons unknown so far, was chased by people in another vehicle.
At some point around 71st Street and Mingo Road the passenger-side tires on the man’s white Jeep SUV failed and he was driving on rims while fleeing the other car.
Friends believe he was able to lose the suspects and abandoned the vehicle to run for safety. The man’s vehicle was found at the Hillcrest South Women’s Clinic at 91st Street and Mingo Road, and police found him lying unconscious in the street around 12:38 a.m.
The man’s friends said security footage shows him attempting to get into the clinic, but the suspects who had been chasing his vehicle saw him running and “turned around and hit him with their vehicle and then got out and beat him.”
Police and paramedics arrived shortly after and were able to resuscitate him, but friends said he is now in the ICU unit of a local hospital with “severe trauma to his brain and body.”
The man’s friends are asking for anyone with information about this incident, or anyone who witnessed it, to contact Tulsa police.
