The work on the New Orleans and Elm Intersection improvements project is now 3 months in, and the contractor will begin moving into phase 2 of construction.
Phase 2 will occur in the southwest corner of the intersection surrounding Chase Bank. Consequently, the direction of traffic will change.
Instead of driving through the south side of the intersection, motorists are now driving through the north side. This will free up the eastbound lanes of New Orleans Street, which will allow the contractor's team to work there and on the southbound lanes of Elm Place. Phase 2 will last about 2 months, similar to phase 1.
