A framed reproduction of a community-chosen image will be displayed in Broken Arrow's Rose District in the coming year after a program details were approved Tuesday by the City Council.

The art display will be part of the “Gilcrease in Your Neighborhood” program that includes downtown Broken Arrow and 29 other locations in the metro area.

The Gilcrease Museum will display three artworks at the location in 3-month installments from October through September 2023. The artworks have been selected by the community and what will appear in the Rose District is expected to be 3-by-4 feet, printed on adhesive-backed vinyl.

Brent Brassfield, business development and retention coordinator for the city of Broken Arrow, said the Gilcrease Museum asked for the work to be displayed in the Rose District.

“Gilcrease is constructing a new building and they want to get their name out in the community through this process,” Brassfield said.

The art installation is expected to begin in early October.
