Broken Arrow continues to lead the Tulsa metro area in the number of new home starts in 2022.

New home starts refer to residential construction projects that have already broken ground.

According to statistics provided by New Orders Weekly, the construction reporting service of the Home Builders Association, Broken Arrow had 373 new home starts from the months of January through August.

Bixby was next with 331 home starts, with Jenks at 287, and Tulsa at 286, respectively. Owasso reported 120 new home starts.

New home construction for the area seems to be trending slightly eastward, statistics show. Of the three counties represented in the report, Wagoner County reported 224, Tulsa County had 211, and Rogers County numbers were at 176 so far this year.

According to real estate broker Redfin.com, in August 2022, the overall prices of new construction and pre-owned homes in Broken Arrow were up 0.6 percent compared to last year, selling for a median price of $252,000, and on the market an average of 8 days.
