In many ways, October was a month to forget in Broken Arrow and eastern Oklahoma.

Eight people died in Broken Arrow a week ago in a tragic murder-suicide, including two adults and 6 children between the ages of 1-13. The bodies of the children were found in a back bedroom of a burning home as firefighters moved in to extinguish the flames.

The case is still under investigation, but police said they don't believe the victims died due to the fire and they recovered several firearms from the  home. They believe the parents, Brian Anthony and Brittney Nichole Nelson, responsible for the children's deaths but details are still sketchy on what led up to the incident.

A Community Prayer Service will be held in the wake of this tragedy on Sunday evening.

In Okmulgee, 4 more homicides were recorded after the dismembered bodies of 4 men missing for several days were discovered in the Fork River. A person of interest in the case was arrested in Florida but no charges have been filed yet in the case.
