A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Tulsa and Wagoner counties beginning Tuesday, January 24, at 12 p.m. and continuing until Wednesday at 6 a.m.

The forecast suggests between 2 to 5 inches of total snow accumulation is possible in our area. Due to the forecast, the Tuesday Evening Farmers Market has been closed this week.

The Streets Department is prepared with 16 dump trucks equipped with plows and spreaders. Prior to the arrival of the predicted precipitation, Streets crews will begin pre-treating city streets. The crews will work 12-hour shifts 24 hours a day during the inclement weather.

Plowing the snow from the streets is done on a priority schedule. Arterial roads and bridges are managed first, followed by side streets and those leading into neighborhoods. Neighborhood streets are not plowed unless the grade of the street exceeds a 10 percent slope.

Water line breaks should be reported to the city's Water Utility Department at 918-258-3587 during normal business hours and 918-259-8400 after hours.

There is no anticipated interruption of trash and recycling collection services during this weather event.
