Broken Arrow police are investigating the city's first homicide of the year.
Police received a call Tuesday around 2:40 a.m. about an unresponsive male in the roadway in the 1400 block of West Trenton Avenue. When officers arrived, they discovered a 16-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound.
Officers and EMS rendered medical aid, but the teen was pronounced dead at the hospital. Detectives are continuing to investigate the homicide and pursue various leads, said BAPD spokesman Ethan Hutchins.
