One person has been arrested in connection to the murder of a 19-year-old woman last week at an apartment complex in south Tulsa.

Tulsa Police Department detectives identified Sytney Sinan as one of the suspects in the homicide that killed Braylee Owens on March 15. Sinan is charged with first-degree murder and shooting a gun from a vehicle. He was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to the Cobblestone Apartments near 51st Street and Memorial Drive and found someone has fired multiple shots through a second-floor bedroom window. Owens was lying in bed with her boyfriend when one of the bullets hit her in the head, police said.

Paramedics took Owens to a Tulsa hospital where she later died. Her boyfriend was not injured in the shooting.

Owens was born March 17, 2003 in Tulsa to Sonya Rauch and Bow Owens. She was killed 2 days short of her 20th birthday.

TPD detectives are still actively investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Tulsa Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS. You can remain anonymous when calling.
