1 person dead in Bixby officer-involved shooting

One person was killed Saturday during an officer-involved shooting in Bixby.

The incident happened several hours ago at the Kum & Go convenience store and gas station at 111th Street and Memorial Drive in Bixby. Witnesses stated the suspect was shooting a gun in the area, prompting police to respond.

Police officers shot the man and he later died. Bixby police have not released further details about the suspect or what caused the shooting. The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard practice. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is assisting with the investigation.

EMSA, the Bixby Fire Department and Tulsa County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
