The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a Tulsa man died on Friday in a one-car accident on the Creek Turnpike.
Troopers said Randy Taylor, a 25-year-old Indian male, was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office due to injuries sustained from the collision.
OHP said Taylor was traveling east on the turnpike just before 6 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve while exiting at Riverside Drive. The 2006 Ford Taurus departed the roadway to the left and struck a tree. Taylor was pinned in his vehicle for approximately 2 hours before being extricated by the Tulsa Fire Department.
OHP said Taylor was likely driving too fast for the rainy, wet road conditions. Taylor was wearing a seatbelt and the vehicle was equipped with airbags but they didn’t deploy. EMSA also responded to the scene
