The Broken Arrow City Council is accepting letters of interest for appointment to an open Ward 4 City Council position.

The term will last until April 2025, when the seat will be up for a vote in the city’s general election.

The City Council is asking that interested parties submit their letter of interest to the Broken Arrow City Clerk by the end of business (5 p.m.) on June 15.

To be considered for the open seat, residents must:

1. Have lived in Ward 4 for the past six months.

2. Be at least 18 years of age.

3. Be a registered voter.

The Broken Arrow City Council will hold a special session prior to the next city council meeting on June 19 for interviews. The exact start time of the special meeting will be determined soon and announced to the public.

Anyone interested in filling the open seat should submit a letter of interest by the June 15 and are encouraged to attend the special meeting.

Each interested party in attendance will be permitted to do a short presentation and answer questions from the Council.

Should a majority of the councilors decide on whom to appoint at the regularly scheduled meeting later that evening, the individual chosen could be sworn in during the June 19 meeting and would be seated immediately.

Interested parties with questions, may contact City Clerk Curtis Green at 918-259-2400 ext. 5418 or email him at cugreen@brokenarrowok.gov.
