Recycling returns July 3rd as storm debris removal efforts are likely to continue into next week.

Through Wednesday, the Streets and Stormwater crews have hauled away more than 4,800 cubic yards of storm debris. For perspective, a standard washing machine is roughly one cubic yard. The Solid Waste and Recycling crews have collected around 350,000 pounds of debris.

Despite those totals, there is more to remove.

The storm debris service routes on Monday and Tuesday are complete and the Wednesday routes are nearly done. Thursday routes will begin in earnest on Friday, June 30th. If more time is needed, our crews will continue the removal efforts next week.

Thank you for your help in moving your debris to the curb and cutting it into manageable sizes. We appreciate your assistance and your patience with us as our employees have worked through the intense heat to beautify your neighborhoods and the community.

One final note, Tuesday, July 4 is a city holiday. Our employees will be off work that day to spend time with family and friends celebrating Independence Day. Trash services will slide to the following day beginning Tuesday. Monday routes will run as normal on July 3.
