The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting Tuesday that left a 15-year-old girl dead.

Wagoner County deputies were dispatched to the 20800 block of East 32nd Place South, just north of the Broken Arrow city limits, at about 1:30 a.m. Investigators learned the female had been shot by a 15-year-old juvenile male.

The victim was identified by Fox News 23 as Maria Ibanez.

Deputies said the male juvenile snuck into the girl’s bedroom window during the night, and at some point a firearm discharged in the residence, striking the Ibanez. Investigators are still determining the relationship between the two juveniles.

Ibanez was taken to a Tulsa-area hospital in critical condition but later passed away, and the male was taken into custody. The Broken Arrow Police Department and Creek Nation Lighthorse Police assisted with the investigation.
