A naked man with a rifle who shot and killed a woman at point-blank range Tuesday was in turn shot by Tulsa police and also died, the department said.
Tulsa police said officers were called to the area of 7900 S. Sheridan for a naked man shooting a rifle. Several vehicles were struck and shell casings were found throughout the parking lot, police said.
Upon arrival police found the suspect described by the callers holding a rifle and speaking to a woman who was trying to communicate with him. At this time the rifle was not pointing at anyone, police said.
Another woman that is not a relative, but known to the suspect, walked up and the suspect shot the second woman point blank in the chest.
Officers fired on the suspect, striking him, and then moved in and started first aid on the woman and the suspect. EMSA transported them both and they both died at the hospital.
Police said they have spoken to witnesses that provided video leading up to the event. Any others who were witnesses to this incident and have not spoken to detectives should call 918-596-9222.
