A Broken Arrow man is dead after a motorcycle crash that occurred in Delaware County Sunday night, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Troopers say the crash was reported at about 6 p.m. on U.S. Highway 412 near NS 507 Road, just west of Leach.

OHP said says 52-year-old James Morrison was pronounced dead at the scene by Cherokee Nation EMS.

According to OHP, Morrison was driving westbound on 412 Alt and went left of center on the curve, lost control and left the roadway. He came off the motorcycle and hit a speed limit sign.

Troopers said the cause of the crash was the rider operating at an unsafe speed on the curve.
