Five people are dead after an active shooter entered the Natalie Building just south of the St. Francis medical campus in south Tulsa with a rifle and starter shooting.
Tactical officers have been going from room to room to rescue those who were in the building. Traffic on Yale Avenue is shut down in the area of 61st Street.
Police confirmed the shooter is among the dead. He is believed to be a black male age 35-40 and had a rifle and handgun in his possession.
Earlier this afternoon, police responded to a call about a man armed with a rifle at the building and it turned into an active shooter situation.
Tulsa police said most of the crime scene was on the second floor and witnesses were being interviewed.
Additionally, the Muskogee Police Department said they were notified by Tulsa police of a possible bomb inside a residence located at Park Place North.
“We are asking residence in that area to shelter in place at this time and we will be coming door to door to make contact with you,” Muskogee police said.
“Please avoid the Country Club area at this time as it is a very active scene and additional traffic could hinder first responders at this time. We will update when information becomes available.”
REUNIFICATION SITE: Police are asking family members/friends to go to Memorial High School west of LaFortune Park for a reunification site.
