Steely named COO of First National Bank of Broken Arrow
Derek Steeley, an 11-year veteran of the First National Bank of Broken Arrow, has been promoted to Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Succeeding him as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer is Ryan Lynch.
A native of Wagoner, Steeley’s resume includes an array of accomplishments at financial institutions in Oklahoma and Texas over a 30-year span. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma and graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He also serves on the Board of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Broken Arrow Rotary Club. He and his wife, Valerie, have three grown children and are members of the Jenks Bible Church.
A native of Springfield, Mo., Lynch is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University and has served in a variety of commercial and retail lending positions at Bank of America, MidFirst Bank, UMB Bank and Chickasha Community Bank. He and his wife, Christy, who is also a banker, have four children.
Board Chairman Gregory Graham said he believes the experience and expertise of both executives coupled with their records and accomplishments will be important factors in First National’s future. “Having them in these leadership positions is certainly an exciting way to begin the new year,” he said.
First National opened its doors in 1902 in what is now downtown Broken Arrow. In 121 years of providing trusted banking services to the community, only four chairmen have headed the institution. First National has two full-service locations in Broken Arrow, employs 40 people and is the oldest family-owned bank originated in Tulsa County.
